Hellström has a well-established and experienced construction law group headed by partners Fredrik Berg, Gustaf Cederschiöld and Krister Lindgren, and a team of highly skilled colleagues. The team works with the firm’s other practice areas — particularly the real estate group and the procurement group — to provide Hellström’s clients with comprehensive legal support within the construction and real estate sectors.

Hellström’s construction lawyers work exclusively with construction, consultancy, and real estate law. We represent large and small construction companies, consultants, real estate developers, public and private employers, and other actors within the construction and real estate sectors. Our typical clients are Swedish companies of all sizes, as well as larger foreign companies active in the Swedish and Scandinavian markets.

We have successfully assisted clients within the construction sector in assignments ranging from large-scale construction projects, land and civil engineering works, building services and installation works, property operating and maintenance, to land improvement and property establishment. We also represent our clients in dispute resolution before the courts and in arbitration proceedings.

We Offer Expert Legal Assistance With the Following:

  • Construction and civil law advice in ongoing projects and in preparation for new projects.

  • Drafting and review of agreements and other contract documents in construction and real estate projects

  • Support in contract negotiations and other proceedings in construction projects.

  • Matters relating to the inspection of, and defects in, construction works.

  • Issues regarding time for completion, hinderances, delays and time extension, disruptions, and other changes in conditions.

  • Matters relating to property management, operations and maintenance.

  • Education in sector specific law and general conditions in AB 04, ABT 06, ABK 09, ABFF 15, AMA-publications, etc.

  • Representation in court, arbitration, and other dispute resolution; we also act as arbitrators.

    About Fredrik Berg

    Fredrik specialises in construction and real estate law and dispute resolution in these areas. After many years of experience in the real estate and construction sectors, Fredrik has developed extensive expertise in this practice area. Fredrik advises a wide range of companies, and other actors in these sectors, supporting them in their core business activities. He offers legal advice, drafts agreements, solves legal issues in ongoing projects, educates key personnel and represents his clients in disputes.

    About Gustaf Cederschiöld

    Gustaf is a partner and head of the construction and consultancy law practice group at Hellström.

    Gustaf has extensive expertise within real estate and construction law and has undertaken a wide range of cases since 2007.

    Gustaf assists his clients with legal advice in project-specific issues, and in legal matters in his clients’ day-to-day operations. He also has years of courtroom experience, representing clients in cases before the Swedish courts, including the Supreme Court on several occasions, and arbitral tribunals.

Krister is also a highly respected lecturer and regularly contributes articles to the magazine Energi & Miljö.
